- Just a quick one about the modem speed displays that appear such as
- system monitor for Win95 or on an FTP program. When downloading I
- quite often get a speed of 3.1 kbs even though my modem is only a 2.8
- kbs model. Is there a reason for this?? Since it is normally zipped
- files that are downloaded I don't see that any data compression from
- the modem would be used to increase the amount of data coming in.
